Magic Materia -
 Spell casting materia, casts spells such as Bolt, Fire and Cure etc.
Support Materia -
 Supportive materia, if paired with magic materia, can have some effect.
Command Materia -
 Commanding materia that creates different actions such as Steal, Deathblow and Sense etc.
Independent Materia -
 Independent materia, effects behaviors of characters and other things outside battles.
Summon Materia -
 Summoning materia that brings Gods, Goddesses and warriors which include Ifrit, Shiva and Odin.
 
~ Tutorial ~
 
Equipping - Go into the menu and select materia. Choose the character you want to equip the materia to. Materia is equipped into weapons and armor and can equip up to eight at maximum in either. To equip materia into a weapon and/or armor, select the slot you wish to equip it to, then choose the materia you wish to add.
Growth - Materia grows every time you finish a battle (not when you escape). Different weapons have different growths, such as normal, double, triple and none.
Linking - Materia can be linked to support materia which may give it a better effect, combinations such as Bolt and All.
